Tools that perform automated checks have the potential to assist researchers. Just as a spelling check can warn users for possible misspellings, automated checks of statistical reporting, data and code sharing, preregistrations, and references can help scientists identify possible options for improvement.
There is a growing community of open source tools that attempt to create reliable automated checks. This website has the goal to collect all these tools in one place, and automatically summarize the ongoing development of these tools. This can be useful for tool builders themselves, making it easier to become aware of similar efforts in other tools, and new functionality that is being developed elsewhere, but it can also be useful for users who want to stay up to date about latest developments. The RSS feed offers a daily summary of work that is being done on tools that perform automated checks.
This website is created by Daniel Lakens from Eindhoven University of Technology, who contributes to Metacheck. If you want your tool to be included on this website, send an email to D.Lakens@tue.nl.
